Towards a Better Understanding of the Role of Population in Philippine Economic Development

The project was co-funded with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation ( KAF ). It involved the commissioning of researches, which showed the impact of population on other development concerns. The studies were presented to the business community and civil society groups.The papers were compiled into a book "The Ties That Bind: Population and Development in the Philippines" for constituents supporting population and development.

PCPD funded 3 studies dealing with population as it relates to housing, health, and education; the initial meeting with researches, and the publication of the book. KAF funded 3 papers on population as it relates to infrastructure, food security, and government resources; and the book launching which was held on March 11, 2003 at the Asian Institute of Management, Makati.
