Code:    Proj-436
Date:    11/01/1987 - 06/01/1989
Duration: 22 Months

This project complemented the nutrition program for indigent children (aged six months to seven years) through the provision of livelihood opportunities to their mothers in Pio del Pilar, a depressed barangay in Makati, Metro Manila. A major input was community organization. The project organized a Mother's Club intended to become a continuing, self-sustaining community-based organization. Members were trained to manage and take over the project's activities. Project components included: (1) strengthening of community organization, (2) undertaking of income-generating projects, (3) maintenance of the nutrition program, and (4) linkage-building or networking with government and private agencies.
