News - IMDM Shares Management Cases on PopDev

The International Movement of Development Managers developed ten management cases on population and development for executive and leadership education.

These are the 10 management cases:

·         The Contraceptive Self Reliance Program in Pangasinan: Quo Vadis?

·         Lifecycle of an Advocacy Network: The Case of the Population, Health, and Environment (PHE) Network in the Philippines

·         In Search of Relevance: The Commission on Population

·         The Friendly Care Foundation, Inc. of the Philippines: Lessons from the Profamilia of Colombia

·         Muslim-Initiated/Related Population Development Program: Development of a National Fatwa on Family Planning and Reproductive Health

·         A Case Study on the Political Economy of Internal Migration and its Effects on Population

·         Well Family Widwives Clinics (WFWCs): Improving the Livelihood of Midwives in the Philippines

·         Pro-Gender and Development Program in Capoocan, Leyte: Yes, It Can!

·         Concepcion, Iloilo – Best Practice Model of an Integrated Population, Health, and Environment

·         The FAD Teen Headquaters (THQ) Program: Using Social Franchising to Advocate Adolescent Reproductive Health

The case method was used as the teaching/learning strategy to generate popdev policy/program recommendations for local governments, private organizations and even the national government. The cases were pilot tested in selected institutions to serve their purpose as a learning material in popdev education.

The use of the case method is an innovative way of advocating for and generating policy/program solutions to management problems on popdev. This project, which was supported by PCPD, can be considered a trailblazer.

The ten cases can be downloaded from this website, see papers on the homepage (or click on the resources tab, papers).
