Expert Briefings on the Population Issue for Opinion Molders in Media

This project aimed to widen the discussion on the the issue of population as it relates to development among opinion molders in the print and electronic media.
Two briefings were held. The first was among the print media practitioners which included publishers, editors, editorial writers, columnists and opinion page editors of major newspapers in Metro Manila. The second were among broadcasters such as news and public affairs directors, news anchors, talk show hosts and commentators of KBP member stations and networks in Metro Manila.
PPI partnered with the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) specifically to:
1. Impress upon opinion molders in the print and electronic media the seriousness of the problem of rapid population growth and its consequences and the need for more resolute action on the issue.
2. Give the opinion molders an idea of the history and present state of the country's population management program.
3. Enable such opinion molders to see their role in getting the needed action on the issue.
